After a favourable vote for the second draft of the new Global Work Health and Safety Standard, the final date of publication is now likely to be in 2018.
The National Standard’s Bodies voted 88% in favour of the second draft standard in the recent ballot, which confirms moving the standard to publication. Modifications to the earlier editions are now meeting most nation’s needs.
A meeting will now be held by the drafting committee in Malaysia in September, who will decide to either issue a final draft standard, or move directly to publication.
