The MARS Centre is a unique collaboration between Edith Cowan University (ECU) and industry partners that aims to promote mental health awareness, respect and safety in the mining industry.The tech talk will introduce the MARS Centre and these three key themes, and explain how they relate to relevant legislation, State and National priorities, and effective leadership in the mining industry. The tech talk will also showcase some of the MARS Centre’s achievements and future plans.The guest speaker for this tech talk is Dr Marcus Cattani, the Deputy Director of the MARS Centre. Dr Cattani is an experienced occupational health professional who has worked with various industries, including mining, construction, manufacturing, health care, education and government. He has a PhD in Occupational Hygiene from Curtin University and a Master of Public Health from ECU. He is also a Certified Occupational Hygienist and a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Occupational Hygienists.
