The GHS sets guidelines for the safe production, transport, handling, use and disposal of hazardous materials, and is seen as a way to bring into agreement the chemical regulations and standards of different countries.
On 1 January 2021, Australia began a two-year transition from the Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labelling of Chemicals Revision 3 (GHS 3) to Revision 7 (GHS 7).
Safe Work Australia is now encouraging all businesses that manufacture, import, supply or use hazardous chemicals to watch the online presentation.
