As part of the National Return to Work Strategy 2020-2030, Safe Work Australia commissioned an independent research report by the Behaviour Change Collaborative who partnered with the Collaboration for Evidence Research and Impact in Public Health at Curtain University on how workers’ access and understand information about workers’ compensation.
Over 1,000 workers were surveyed, along with focus groups of workers. Information was also gathered from employer groups, regulators, insurers, unions, rehabilitation providers and medical practitioners.
The independent report provides information about workers’ perception and knowledge of workers’ compensation systems as well as information about workers’ communication preferences.
Safe Work Australia will consider the report’s recommendations to inform future work under the National Return to Work Strategy 2020-2030.
