The NSW Government has opened a fresh round of applications for eligible organisations seeking sponsorship funding for events that promote work health and safety (WHS) or raise awareness of consumer protections.
“We’re keeping the spotlight on consumer rights and workplace safety with funding for quality projects that educate and inform the community,” Department of Customer Service Deputy Secretary for the Better Regulation Division Natasha Mann said.
“Sponsorships ranging in value from $2,000 up to $25,000 shall be awarded across eligible not-for-profit and non-government organisations, local councils and industry organisations.”
An earlier sponsorship round attracted 56 applications, with 14 organisations across Sydney and regional centres such as Nowra, Taree and Yass receiving sponsorship funding.
Previous sponsorships included initiatives such as new e-learning tools for a safe formworking pilot, as well as WHS workshops for regional high school students starting work.
“We are inviting submissions from eligible applicants across our state,” Ms Mann said.
“We want everyone in NSW to have a better understanding of their rights when purchasing goods and services, as well as the importance of working safely.”
Applications are now open for eligible organisations considering staging events and activities between 1 January 2023 to 30 June 2023.
The deadline for submitting an application is 5pm on Friday, 9 September 2022.
The sponsorship program is administered by the NSW Department of Customer Service Better Regulation Division.
