The NSW Government is highlighting the importance of mentally healthy workplaces, with SafeWork NSW teaming up with Sydney FC to provide businesses with free coaching resources.
Minister for Fair Trading Eleni Petinos said nearly one in six Australians are experiencing mental ill health at work.
“I’m delighted that Sydney FC has partnered with SafeWork NSW to help raise mental health awareness in the workplace with the new campaign – Coaching, Training, Success!” Ms Petinos said.
“Sydney FC understand how training and coaching play a vital role on and off the field, and take proactive measures such as such as flexible work arrangements, workload management and ensuring staff and players have a work-life balance.
“There is an urgent need for small business owners to create sustainable mentally healthy workplaces, especially as more workers head back into the office.”
Minister for Mental Health Bronnie Taylor said the campaign will shine a light on the positive impact training and coaching can have on work culture.
“Mental health is just as important as physical health. That’s why the NSW Government is offering free, tailored coaching to businesses, delivered by The Black Dog Institute,” Mrs Taylor said.
Each business can access up to four hours of free coaching delivered online or over the phone. Coaching targets mental health issues such as bullying, stress or change.
