NOPSEMA recently surveyed the Australian offshore oil and gas industry to share and encourage the adoption of better and consistent practices and to protect and support the offshore workforce from health risks associated with COVID-19.
“Industry have been good at quickly adapting to the changing COVID-19 situation and developing means of better protecting the health of their employees. We believe the wider adoption of these practices, where practicable and appropriate, can assist industry in keeping their workforce healthy.” said Derrick O’Keeffe, NOPSEMA’s Head of Safety and Integrity.
NOPSEMA strongly encourages all duty holders to read the survey findings to identify opportunities to improve their current systems and practices. Members of the offshore workforce are also encouraged to use the survey findings to review their facilities current practices on their facilities, and to encourage facility management to adopt better practices where possible.
